This selection of purls and sewing equipment will ensure you are well on your way on your creative goldwork journey.
What are purls?
Purls are hollow wires (think tiny slinky!) that can be cut to your required size and stitched with a needle and thread through the middle, like beading. This is commonly known as chipping or cut work.

Fabric – natural, non-stretchy is recommended. Back with calico if fine.
Embroidery hoop or frame
Embroidery scissors - with a sharp point are recommended. NB: Metal threads will blunt scissors
Velvet board or dish for catching cut purls
